Installation Guide

  1. make sure that your system has been installed with JavaVM (JRE), and the PATH of  “java.exe” must be accessible by the system from any directory/folder.

  2. unzip “boomer.exe” (and it's a freeware!) from .zip file which can be downloaded from Boomer website. Remind you that you should download the appropriate version for your system.  The latest version of BOOMER is v3.3.1 gFortran ver.. (Apr. 2006). Please remember to setup an appropriate "Permission" profile of the Boomer execute for MacOS X or Linux (FC5) in order to run it with JGuiB after unzipping it from the compressed file.  If this procedure is ignored, then you probably will get the error message that JGuiB will keep asking for setup the file path of Boomer, although you have already assigned it to JGuiB.

  3. Install JGuiB from the setup file (PC/window ONLY) or zip files (Linux-PC or MacOS X version); the zip file must be unzipped using option of “-d” (mean to keep folder/directory format).

  4. click JGuiB icon from startup menu to run.  If you has not specified the location of “boomer.exe” (for PC) or “boomer” (for MacOS X or Linux FC2/3), JGuiB will remind you to specify where “boomer.exe” or “boomer” can be located.  For some other platforms, it may need to open an terminal and run JGuiB by typing “java –jar JGuiB.jar [Enter]”.

Instructions for Linux Users:
- After downloading open a shell and, cd to the directory where you downloaded the installer.
- At the prompt type: sh ./JGBsetup.bin OR just type "./JGBsetup.bin"
